Sycamore Canyon

The Hike:  Sycamore Canyon
Vague Location:  San Diego County
Length:  Flexible – There are 10 miles of trails.

I picked the wrong time of year to hike Sycamore Canyon.  We started the hike at the Highway 67 Staging Area.  We saw no other people (or animals) on the trail.  It was extremely hot and there was no shade.  All the plants looked dead.

The trail included a lot of “ups and downs” as we hiked over the rolling hills.

1942 Feet

Overall, the amount of open space and scenic views of the landscape were surprising.  I should go back and explore the area again.  There is a seasonal creek and a grove (shade!) that I have yet to explore.

This hike was taken in August of 2010.
